Equine Boarding

Life Adventure Center of the Bluegrass is a 575-acre farm nestled in the rolling hills of Versailles, KY. We offer a variety of quality programs to the youth and adults of Kentucky, and are proud to add horse boarding beginning in Spring 2009. Geldings and mares over the age of 5 are welcome. LAC is dedicated to quality horse care, safety for both horse and rider, and ensuring a welcoming and friendly environment. Our pristine facilities offer multiple riding and training areas for a variety of disciplines. Listed below are descriptions of what we offer.

Facilities:

  • 12’x12’ box stalls w/ mats and fans

  • Heated (locking) tack room, classroom, and restroom

  • Hot/cold wash stall

  • Grooming stall

  • Lighted 120’x 200’ indoor arena*

  • Variety of jumps (poles, gates, coop, walls, flowers)

  • 100’x 200’ outdoor arena w/ all-weather footing

  • 10 miles of wooded trails

  • Small cross-country course w/ 2’-2’3” fences

  • Outdoor riding areas

  • Round-pen

  • Run-in sheds in every pastureBoard_Horse

  • Salt/mineral blocks in every pasture

  • Automatic waterers (checked daily)

  • 4-board plank fencing

*Some limitations on indoor arena use due to lesson schedule

Prices:
Full care - $550/month

  • Stall with shavings

  • Daily turnout (AM or PM depending on the season) in large pastures*

  • Feed twice daily - McCauley Bros 12% Open (Any other feed must be provided by owner)

  • Feed supplements (provided by owner)

  • Hay as needed (Fescue/Bluegrass/Timothy mix)

  • Daily stall cleaning

  • Blanket on/off in winter

  • Fly mask on/off in summer

  • Schedule and hold for routine vet, farrier, and dentist visits (if you use a vet, farrier, or dentist other than the farm’s, you must schedule and be there to meet them)

  • De-worming every two months and yearly vaccinations (Flu/Rhino 2x/year) on farm schedule – these will be billed at an additional cost

  • All horses checked twice daily for injuries

*Some smaller paddock space may be available

Pasture Board

Boarding Options – Beginning September 1st, 2009

Self-Care Pasture - $200

Pasture - fed 1x/day w/ LAC grain (up to 4 quarts) - $275

Pasture - fed 1x/day w/ owner’s grain - $250

Pasture – fed 2x/day w/ LAC grain (up to 8 quarts) - $325

Pasture – fed 2x/day w/ owner’s grain - $300

*Boarders may change Pasture Board options at the beginning of the month, provided LAC staff is notified before the 5th of the month.

  • Clipping (face, ears, legs)

  • Mane Pulling

  • Bathing

  • Fly spraying (if provided)

  • Vacuuming

  • Bandaging/hoof-packing
